Compliance
TWM commits to a variety of industry wide initiatives primarily geared to reducing the environmental consequence of our manufacturing processes, component conformance to appropriate industry standards, the wellbeing of our staff through Health & Safety initiatives and commitment to lean manufacturing principles.
Environmental & Waste Principles
Reducing the overall impact on our environment is essential to the longevity of our business operation, our commitment to our employees, customers, suppliers and the local community. At TWM we work towards reducing our own carbon foot print at all times. As an example we work towards a number of different legislation such as Rohs, Reach, WEEE and the Solvent Emissions Directive. We monitor and constantly strive to reduce environmental impact by reviewing energy consumption, solvent usage, materials wastage, recycling and so on.
Whilst our broad manufacturing capabilities are varied we review our plant and equipment regularly to ensure good and efficient working operations. We also strive to reduce “material wastage” requiring TWM to regularly review its manufacturing efficiency. Any waste, whether raw materials, chemicals, IT technology and general business waste is disposed of via appropriate approved registered contractors.
TWM invest in Plant & Machinery based on both the capability of the investment but also its overall impact on the environment. Before implementation we determine energy consumption, noise level impact, process & training requirements, impact on existing plant and related processes, raw materials amongst others. Many of our Health & Safety principles are also reviewed prior to any investment decision.
Health & Safety Principles
At TWM we implement and practice appropriate Health & Safety initiatives in order to minimise employee and / practice (procedural) risk in accordance with appropriate legislation. Given the importance of Health & Safety TWM continuously reviews legislation and “best practice” principles across our manufacturing processes. Our overriding principle at TWM is to ensure that our staff have the appropriate skills, technology and procedures in place geared to their area(s) of discipline.
Efficient Manufacturing Principles
Efficiency of operations at TWM is based on our continued investment in our staff by means of training geared to broadening skill capability. We have a works principle of diversifying our staffing capabilities in order that production is maximised without interruption. Staff benefit as they become familiar with a variety of plant & machinery allowing ease of deployment across our manufacturing processes yet providing a more varied and flexible working environment.
Additionally, regular investment in modern plant & machinery provides a technology platform for TWM to service its clients and enables our staff to continuously learn new engineering practices and techniques.
Naturally investment in both training and modern plant enables TWM to review its working practices and seek additional efficiency of scale via improved procedures and processes.
