Component Finishing Centre
Our state of the art Finishing centre provides a fully automated, yet flexible facility for component finishing. Our facilities are fully programmable allowing client specific requirements to be fully realised and incorporates chemical passivation, cleaning, ultrasonic cleaning, vapour degreasing and heat treatment.
Cleaning Components & System – Our facility removes oils, greases, forming compounds, lubricants, coolants, cutting fluids and other undesirable organic and metallic residue left behind because of machining and related fabrication processes. Some of our cleaning plant key features include 5 Separate Tanks, Chemical Cleaning Agents with Ultrasonic agitation, Water Rinse and bubble agitation, Acid Dipping – Passivation, Demineralised water (circulated) for finish rinse and two position drying options with temperatures up to 165ºC.
Electrochemical Passivation Process – this process chemically treats stainless steel with a mild oxidant such as a nitric acid solution. The process removes the “free iron” contamination left behind on the surface of the stainless steel following machining / fabrication. These contaminants are potential corrosion sites that result in premature corrosion and ultimately result in eventual deteriation of the component if not removed. The passivation process facilitates the formation of a thin transparent oxide film that protects the stainless steel from selective oxidization or corrosion. Passivation in conclusion is both cleaning and provides a protective coating.
General degreasing, Vapour Degreasing and cleaning can be accomplished in a number of ways including solvent vapour degreasing and acid dipping. Our C&C hydrosonics Vapour degreasing facility includes a programmable option catering for a variety of different processes including; 5 stage automatic system process, automatic loading facility with scrubbed air purification, immersion in liquid solvent with ultrasonic agitation, Vapour immersion and a drying station.
Cleaning Cycles - Importantly the type of component determines the most effective process as bath selection is dependant on the type of component to be processed. Typical immersion times vary between 2 & 30 minutes, or more and temperatures dependant on chemicals used.
Ovens & Oiling – Complimenting our finishing centre, our facilities also include a selection of ovens of different sizes catering for heat treatment up to 550ºC and a fully equipped oiling facility.
